Carol Thiel has sung with the MSM since 2013, and she accepted the new Board position of Corresponding Secretary in 2020. After graduating from UW-Whitewater with a degree in Vocal Performance, she had the opportunity to sing with Milwaukee’s Florentine Opera for 23 seasons.

Carol worked in Human Resources/Benefits for her entire career but was fortunate to be able to continue with her love of music throughout. She has had many fabulous experiences through her music that took her to Europe three times and provided memories of a lifetime. To bring joy to others through music is a gift; one not to be squandered, but to be shared.

Sandra Halgerson was invited to join the MSM Board in 2017, as a Member-at-Large, and was elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the Board as Recording Secretary in 2020. She has studied both in the U.S. and abroad, and earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from UW-Whitewater. While not a trained musician (she is not a singing member of the MSM), Sandra has enjoyed a life-long love of music, thanks to her father, an amateur musician, composer, and lyricist. She spent 43 years working as a financial professional in the metro Milwaukee area. Sandra is now retired and lives in the Bay View neighborhood of Milwaukee, WI.

Congratulations to Sandra Halgerson on her new role as Recording Secretary, and we thank her for her many years of service to the MSM.
